Position Overview:

The Asset Management Intern will engage in a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge in the healthcare sector while enhancing their financial analysis skills by becoming a part of Ventas's dynamic and efficient Asset Management team. This role involves analyzing property, tenant/borrower, industry, and various data pertinent to the Company's real estate holdings, preparing documentation for lease approvals, and executing special projects focused on financial and operational trends.

This internship spans 10 weeks and is situated within our Asset Management, Outpatient Medical, Research & Healthcare division. The OMR & Healthcare Asset Management team oversees a diverse portfolio comprising 411 Outpatient Medical properties and an additional 45 properties in the Research and Healthcare sectors. Interns will engage in a variety of projects that support all three portfolios, making this an excellent opportunity for rising seniors seeking hands-on financial analysis experience with a leading real estate investment trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing tenant/borrower financial statements and relevant metrics
  • Preparing documentation for lease approvals
  • Updating and maintaining financial models to assess property performance against approved budgets
  • Researching and reporting on industry trends, publications, and news
  • Providing analytical support to the Asset Management team as required
  • Completing various ad hoc projects and reports as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Completion of coursework in finance, economics, or accounting
  • Currently enrolled as a junior at an accredited four-year institution or in an MBA program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with financial documents such as Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Self-motivated and adaptable individual with strong learning capabilities
  • Excellent quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Availability for full-time work for a minimum of 10 weeks
