Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Strategic Legal Counsel to join our team as a Senior Corporate Attorney. Reporting to the Senior EVP & General Counsel, this role will be responsible for handling various legal matters, including general legal counseling, antitrust compliance, contract review and drafting, intellectual property, and corporate governance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment with RILA's interests
  • Develop and maintain an in-house contract management system
  • Support legal work needed by other RILA functions, such as subpoena responses and cease and desist actions
  • Handle all antitrust work, including maintaining compliance programs and reviewing member benchmarking surveys
  • Staff training on select issues, such as antitrust and harassment
  • Partner with the VP, Administration on employment-related matters, including handbook development and staff adjustments
  • Maintain state filings and website policies, such as privacy and terms of use
  • Manage RILA's IP portfolio and assist with PAC compliance and reporting
Requirements
  • J.D. degree and active membership in the bar in good standing
  • Four to six years of experience in corporate legal areas relevant to trade association practice
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and writing skills
  • Attention to detail and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with project management software and database systems preferred
