We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and management of contracts for our NASA2401 program. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, excellent management and communication skills, and the ability to work well with scientists, managers, IT professionals, and senior executives.
Key Responsibilities- Program Management: Direct programs and manage employees at multiple locations, including remote work arrangements, to ensure timely and effective contract fulfillment.
- Contract Management: Manage the fulfillment of the contract, including understanding task requirements, developing work breakdown structures, project plans, and applying effective technical and budget tracking approaches.
- Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a central point of communication among employees, prime government clients, subcontractors, and corporate office to identify and resolve technical, programmatic, managerial, and contractual issues.
- Proposal Strategies and Business Development: Assist in proposal strategies and business development, as applicable.
- Staff Management: Direct the efforts of professional scientific and technical support staff under the contract and help sustain a conducive working environment for science-oriented staff.
- Task Coordination and Review: Coordinate tasks and review work products for completeness and adherence to customer standards.
- Project Support: Work closely with HR, Accounting, and Contracts Admin to maintain project deadlines and requirements.
- Education: Master's Degree in Atmospheric Science, Numerical Modeling, Geophysics, Earth System Sciences, or closely related field; or B.S. with over 15 years of experience combining technical development and program management.
- Experience: 6-10 years of program management experience, with proven experience managing a staff of 50 or more scientists and programmer analysts.
- Skills: Excellent management and communication skills, knowledge of weather and climate numerical modeling, experience with proposal writing, and familiarity with federal government contracting and task management.
- Certifications: PMP certification is preferred.
