Position Overview:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimizing production processes and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, your role will encompass the following:
  • Design, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes within an industrial environment.
  • Evaluate and refine manufacturing methodologies, leveraging your expertise in product design, materials, and fabrication techniques.
  • Prepare comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including process flow diagrams and operational instructions.
  • Facilitate the transition of new products into production, collaborating closely with manufacturing teams during initial builds.
  • Analyze workforce utilization, spatial requirements, and workflow to optimize equipment layout and workspace efficiency.
  • Engage with engineering teams to ensure that Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles are integrated into product designs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to procure necessary equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality benchmarks.
  • Estimate production timelines, staffing needs, and associated costs, including the development of work instructions and tooling design.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and debugging of defective items, collaborating with Quality Engineering to implement root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or 5+ years of applicable work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A dependable and analytical mindset, capable of collaborating effectively with team members and driving improvements based on data.
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Skills:
While not mandatory, the following skills are advantageous:
  • Familiarity with Lean-Sigma methodologies and statistical applications in manufacturing.
  • Experience with CAD software such as CREO, SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.
  • Background in machining processes, including CNC milling and lathe operations.
  • Programming experience.

Physical Requirements:
Candidates should be prepared to lift up to 25 pounds and engage in occasional bending.
