Position Overview: The Import/Export Compliance Analyst at Columbia Helicopters, Inc. will be responsible for ensuring that all international trade activities adhere to governmental regulations and customs requirements. This role will serve as a key resource for import/export operations and assist the Compliance Manager in implementing and managing the company's trade compliance initiatives, processes, and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify export and import documentation to ensure alignment with Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all trade compliance-related activities and transactions.
  • Conduct Visual Compliance Screenings for non-U.S. visitors.
  • Facilitate visits from non-U.S. individuals in accordance with EAR and ITAR regulations.
  • Ensure accurate classification and jurisdiction determination of products, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Country of Origin, Commerce Control List (CCL), ITAR, and other relevant Partnering Government Agencies (PGAs).
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and delivery of internal training programs.
  • Oversee daily export/import activities to ensure timely customs clearance, providing guidance and resolving customs-related issues in collaboration with the Logistics Department.
  • Maintain, audit, and reconcile records in compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments and conduct routine self-assessments to ensure adherence to the trade compliance program.
  • Engage with external agencies, including the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (State Department), Bureau of Industry and Security (Commerce Department), and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • Coordinate the review of technical data prior to export.
  • Manage and review documentation for parts sales related to exported items.
  • Facilitate electronic access to technical data with external vendors.
  • Maintain and distribute required annual export documentation to vendors and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of export compliance regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC).
  • 1-2 years of experience in customs compliance, import/export operations, or a related field.
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks with precision and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer and technical skills, particularly in MS Office with a focus on Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to achieve objectives through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
