The Doe Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism. Our holistic services, housing, and work opportunities support under-served populations, including the formerly homeless and incarcerated, disconnected youth, veterans, and people living with AIDS.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Full-Time Residence Manager for our newest permanent supportive housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. The program provides long-term residential care and 24-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Function as a liaison between residents and staff
- Collaborate with security staff to ensure safety and well-being of residents
- Perform hourly patrols through the facility
- Manage challenging situations and crises that may occur at the facility
- Responsible for handling incidents and completing an Incident Report form as needed
- Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and Clinical team
- Ensure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System are working properly and up to code with FDNY
- High School diploma or GED, some college preferred
- At least two years of experience working in a social service, residential setting
- Working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
