Manufacturing Engineer

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality parts and sub-assemblies. Your expertise in manufacturing engineering will be instrumental in developing and implementing manufacturing procedures, operation sequencing, and tooling requirements to meet engineering drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:- Develop and recommend manufacturing process flows and tools to improve machining efficiency.
- Assist machinists with program prove-out and implement quick change-over setup tools and processes.
- Establish standard times for setup and run of each operation on assigned parts.
- Originate studies to improve manufacturing efficiency, including recommendations for changes in equipment, process methods, materials, and designs.
- Participate in engineering design reviews to ensure design concepts and specifications support efficient manufacturing methods and techniques.
- Review engineering drawings for manufacturing datum's, key characteristics, and tolerance stack-up.
- Prepare statements of work documentation for new capital equipment needs and communicate with suppliers.
- Coordinate and aid in the preparation of capital assets and expenditure budgets.
- Develop cost studies of new manufacturing methods, equipment, and processing, and prepare summary briefings with recommendations.
- Frequent contact with internal and external personnel to convey ideas involving production parts, supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Provide MRB support for rework instructions and corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Plan sequence of operations for the fabrication of machined parts using various machining equipment.
- Create, revise, and maintain revision control on all manufacturing process documents.
- Understand cellular manufacturing concepts and lean principles.
- Guide or train Associate Manufacturing Engineers as necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering.
- 3-5 years' experience in standard machining operations or manufacturing engineering, including turning, milling, mill/turns, gear cutting, debur, and grinding.
- CAD design/drawing experience with CAD, CATIA V5, Solidworks, and/or Creo.
- Lean Manufacturing, LEAN tools, and Six Sigma knowledge is highly desirable.
- Capable of planning for production the machining and manufacturing process of a part from start to finish.
- Proficient in blueprint reading, understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and interpreting 2D & 3D engineering models.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of manufacturing/machining anomalies and make corrections.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
