Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecom Systems Specialist to support our federal customer at the Savannah River Site. Our company, Jacobs, provides telecommunications system operation and maintenance services as well as site operator services at SRS. This position supports an operation and maintenance program managing the voice and data services at the Savannah River site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily surveillance and maintenance on Avaya Aura communications platform, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Deploy and maintain local and area paging, base and handheld radio circuits, security alarm systems, T-1 Trunks, water monitoring, and Gig, 100, and 10 BaseT Ethernet.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Avaya equipment and special circuit issues, collaborating with GE power system and battery plant teams as needed.
  • Support Ciena OM6500 transport equipment, ensuring seamless network operations.
  • Install and maintain subscriber telephone lines, troubleshoot issues with outside technicians, and perform software translations for routing and charging.
  • Respond to maintenance messages and system alarms, analyzing and resolving issues to prevent downtime.
  • Provide service order activity for analog and digital telephone services, and IP services, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Perform change verification for all telephone services and voice mail features, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network/telecommunications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Current driver's license required.
  • Pass an alcohol and substance abuse test.
  • Must be able to obtain DOE Clearance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Avaya Certifications a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DOE Clearance.
