Role Overview

The Safety and Security Lead Officer is responsible for overseeing the protection of human resources, intellectual property, and physical assets, ensuring seamless operational continuity. This role often serves as the initial point of contact for clients and visitors, making a strong first impression essential. Adherence to safety and security protocols is crucial to fostering a secure environment for all stakeholders and reinforcing our dedication to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate staffing schedules and manage requests to ensure all security posts are adequately filled.
  • Monitor the daily entry and exit of individuals and vehicles, addressing safety and security concerns effectively.
  • Prevent unauthorized access to the facility.
  • Supervise security and fire alarm systems, responding to alerts and potential breaches according to established protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of key assets through scheduled patrols, both inside and outside the facility.
  • Assist clients, tenants, and visitors with safety and security inquiries and provide guidance regarding the facility.
  • Document significant security incidents and prepare reports in line with company policies.
  • Oversee daily operations of security applications, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Manage access provisioning for authorized personnel.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

The Lead Officer role requires effective communication with a diverse range of individuals, from entry-level employees to high-ranking officials. The ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations while providing clear guidance is essential. Key competencies include:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Quick decision-making abilities to ensure facility safety.
  • Proficiency in technology, particularly in access control systems and related software.
  • Ability to learn basic troubleshooting for access control systems.
  • Government clearance for specific locations, to be applied for within the first month of employment.
