The Customer Service Associate I is integral in delivering assistance to consumers or credit card holders by managing account updates and supporting the oversight of credit card receivables. This position may also provide supplementary support for credit collections during high-demand periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage incoming customer calls, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards.
  • Acquire a solid understanding of both computer and telephone systems.
  • Maintain familiarity with credit card customer accounts through routine updates and initial notifications of significant events.
  • Effectively learn and utilize proprietary software applications.
  • Consistently embody Valero's Key Values.
  • Assist in the management of credit card receivables and make informed credit decisions within established guidelines.
  • Comply with scheduling requirements and uphold quality standards.
  • Complete designated tasks, including responsibilities related to the Mail Team function.

This position is classified as hourly nonexempt, making you eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Some college education is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a call center environment is advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is beneficial.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in an on-site setting.

Compensation and position level will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be required to complete a 50-minute computer-based assessment as part of the application process.

Note: The pre-employment process includes a background check and drug screening.
