Position Overview
The Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner role is designed to deliver comprehensive patient care to a diverse population of trauma patients.
This position entails providing direct clinical services to a varied patient demographic. Utilizing clinical knowledge, experience, and sound judgment, the Nurse Practitioner will assess situations, prioritize tasks, and apply critical thinking to evaluate patient conditions. The role includes participation in both patient and staff educational initiatives, demonstrating leadership capabilities, and maintaining accountability for clinical practices as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care to trauma patients.
- Engage in educational activities for patients and healthcare staff.
- Exhibit leadership and accountability in clinical practice.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Trauma or Surgery Nurse Practitioner.
- Master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current certifications in AHA CPR/BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification within six months of employment.
- Board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP).
- Valid California RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses without restrictions.
- Furnishing license and DEA certification within three months of hire.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong judgment and organizational skills for independent functioning.
- Ability to meet hospital credentialing and billing standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent clinical experience in specialty care relevant to the department.
