Pediatric Surgery Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pediatric Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the University of California-Davis Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families.
- Manage chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols.
- Initiate appropriate consultations and referrals, post-operative patient evaluation and care, follow-up evaluations, and patient care planning and discharges.
- Provide education to patients, family members, ICU team members, and medical providers, including medical students, residents, and fellow physicians.
- Participate in the design and implementation of research and/or quality improvement studies within the Pediatric Surgery Department.
Requirements:
- Master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
- At least one year of RN experience in a pediatric acute care setting.
- Current AHA CPR/BLS and PALS certifications.
- National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area within 3 months of hire.
- Valid California RN and Nurse Practitioner license without restrictions.
- Furnishing license within 3 months of hire.
- DEA within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
- One year or greater recent experience as a nurse practitioner in pediatric surgery.
- Two years or greater PICU, PCICU, NICU, or Trauma ED clinical experience.
