Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care in the surgical environment for patients undergoing invasive procedures.
- Perform scrub functions, including the selection and management of instruments and supplies utilized during procedures.
- Execute circulating duties, which involve monitoring, documenting, and communicating patient conditions while managing overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning.
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer required. Accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a current home state license for multi-state recognition obtained prior to hire or transfer required.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited nursing school or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
Additional Preferences
- Experience in circulating roles is preferred.
