Pharmaceutical Care Specialist

Position Overview:
The Pharmaceutical Care Specialist consistently applies their expertise and competencies to provide appropriate, safe, efficient, effective, and economical pharmaceutical services tailored to their specific role.
This role encompasses patient care and the cultivation of strong, professional relationships within a collaborative healthcare team.
Work Schedule:
7 on/ 7 off night shift (currently 8pm - 7am with a 30-minute meal break)
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the availability and integrity of medications for patient administration.
Oversee pharmacy inventory to reduce waste, ensure medication availability for patients, and appropriately recycle IV solutions.
Offer drug information to fellow healthcare professionals.
Confirm the accuracy of work performed by pharmacy technicians and other pharmacists.
Prepare and ensure the availability of compounded medications, extemporaneous medications, and prepackaged medications in compliance with current practice standards and regulatory requirements.
Deliver clinical pharmacotherapy services including, but not limited to: patient medication counseling, participation in multidisciplinary patient care rounds, review of medication administration records, monitoring and reporting of adverse drug reactions, medication error reporting, and pharmacokinetic dosing services.
Essential Qualifications:
Master's Degree or equivalent, required.
A minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience, required.
Current pharmacy licensure in Colorado, required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an inpatient acute care pharmacy setting.
Physical Demands:
Includes carrying, climbing, crawling, hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.
