Job Description

Job Summary:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the team at Friendship Community Care as an Early Childhood Developmental Specialist - Lead Teacher. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality educational programs and services to children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement individualized plans of care for children, ensuring that their unique needs are met and their progress is monitored and evaluated.
  • Classroom Management: Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development in children.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise and support teacher assistants, providing guidance and coaching to ensure that they are meeting the needs of children and adhering to program standards.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure that children receive comprehensive support and services.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education and special needs support.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a lead teacher or program lead role.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
