Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Geisinger Health System. As a key member of our front-line support team, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register incoming patients and accurately verify demographics
  • Monitor patient wait times and communicate changes to patients as necessary
  • Read and interpret insurance responses to assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance per encounter
  • Ensure patients receive necessary disclosure and privacy information, obtain necessary legal and financial signatures, and communicate financial obligations
  • Process multi-channel messages related to patient and/or physician requests regarding appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints
  • Notify patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibility and collect accordingly
  • Perform cash posting following department guidelines
  • Abide by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
  • Certification(s) and License(s) as required by the position
