Inventory Control Specialist

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Inventory VAC and various committees to optimize operations across different facilities.
  • Manages the inventory workflow within designated storerooms, ensuring staff are informed about contract modifications and material handling procedures. Provides oversight and coordination of daily supply chain activities.
  • During PAR and departmental inventories, evaluates supply usage and suggests product modifications or inventory adjustments to the relevant supervisor.
  • Participates in updating departmental inventories as needed, including adding or removing stock items and adjusting par levels based on departmental requests.
  • Assists facility departments with inquiries regarding non-stock items and follows up on non-stock supplies in procedural areas.
  • Advocates for Supply Chain departments concerning consignment and implantable supplies.
  • Oversees the transition of contracts and the introduction of new products within the facility, ensuring staff are equipped with the necessary product knowledge.
  • Coordinates cycle counting in perpetual inventories to maintain accuracy in inventory records, monitoring accounts for monthly inventory adjustments.
  • Prepares and manages the annual inventory process for assigned areas.
  • Ensures Returned Goods Authorizations are maintained and monitored, confirming that credits are processed according to established guidelines.
  • Initiates and coordinates repairs, product returns, and recalls as necessary within assigned responsibilities.
  • Assists in training new staff and those seeking to enhance their knowledge of Supply Chain operations.
  • Aids in vendor management within assigned areas.
  • Responsible for implementing cost-saving initiatives and performance improvements with set objectives.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

In the Hills Market:

  • Oversees all Supply Chain activities related to inventory receipts from suppliers, ensuring a systematic approach for all deliveries to end users.
  • Manages the shipping of freight.
  • Attends leadership and facility meetings as necessary.
  • Ensures accurate receiving of supplies and equipment, generating and reviewing special reports on a weekly basis.

In the Distribution Center:

  • Responsible for the placement of substitute and conversion items within the Distribution Center, coordinating communication with relevant departments and Supply Chain teams.
  • Maintains records of supply item usage and provides recommendations for optimal product placement within the Distribution Center.
  • Oversees all returns to the Distribution Center, resolving discrepancies and assisting with retraining staff on the return process as needed.
  • Monitors new items in the Distribution Center to ensure anticipated usage and communicates any discrepancies to Supply Chain teams.
  • Utilizes usage reports to identify items that are not moving within the Distribution Center, communicating findings and potential action plans to Supply Chain teams.
  • Coordinates daily with Procurement regarding out-of-stock items at the Distribution Center, facilitating communication on expected delivery dates and substitute items.
  • Reviews inventory-related reports daily and collaborates with the assigned Procurement staff for resolution.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Work Experience - Minimum of 1 year in Inventory Management.

Preferred:

Education - High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Work Experience - 3+ years in Healthcare Materials Management.

Physical Requirements: Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly, and/or more than 50 pounds frequently, and/or more than 100 pounds occasionally, and/or more than 100 pounds seldomly to move objects. Ability to work designated shift lengths, including 8 and 12 hours, which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
