Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and Monitor Patients: Observe patients in the inpatient setting to ensure their comfort and safety, and promptly communicate any concerns or needs to the registered nurse.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate closely with the registered nurse to have a better understanding of the patient's needs, diagnosis, visual, auditory or language barriers, along with any other special considerations.
  • Ensure Patient Safety: Ensure patient call light is in reach of patient at all times, and maintain a safe work environment by following organization and department safety policies, including standard precautions.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care and support.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: None required.
  • Education: No formal education required.
  • Experience: No experience required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills, ability to work in adverse conditions, and a strong commitment to service management/customer service.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
  • Lifting and Moving: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, and lift up to 20 lbs over the head.
  • Pushing and Pulling: Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
  • Visual and Hearing Requirements: Must have functional vision and hearing.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood, and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
