Job Summary:

The Lease Operator III is a key member of our operations team, responsible for the daily management and maintenance of oil and gas wells. This role requires advanced operating skills, including troubleshooting and problem-solving, to optimize production and minimize costs. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of lease operating expenses and be able to work independently, with a focus on safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain compliance with company HSE policies and respond to safety and environmental events.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Conduct production tests, perform advanced repairs, and communicate corrective maintenance needs.
  • Complete operational checks of assigned wells/equipment and identify/report changes in individual well performance.
  • Perform required maintenance of equipment and communicate corrective maintenance needs.
  • Analyze facility-related problems and work with Foreman or other Operators to resolve.
  • Update piping and instrumentation diagrams and site security diagrams as required.
  • Adjust operating controls to maximize production and minimize costs.
  • Coordinate with midstream gathering operations.
  • Perform maintenance of well sites (equipment, berms, fences, signs, weeds, trash, etc.).
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of SCADA, metering, automation, communications, and all surface and downhole equipment.
  • Gauge tanks and prepare for sale; manage fluid inventory on production facilities.
  • Lighting of gas-fired vessels/emission control devices.
  • Accurately complete well tests, meter readings, and production reports using SCADA/Field Operator.
  • Advanced knowledge of artificial lift systems and optimization. Assist other operators with optimization skills and tasks.
  • Minimize downtime and code appropriately in the field data capture system.
  • Advanced comprehension of lease operating expenses and assist foremen in cost-saving measures.
  • Work proactively to reduce emissions.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • 8+ years industry-related experience preferred.
  • Lease Operating certificate preferred.
