Nuclear Medicine Imaging Specialist

The Jamaica Hospital Medical Center's Department of Radiology offers a wide range of advanced, state-of-the-art diagnostic and imaging services. Our medical team consists of highly qualified Board Certified and fellowship-trained professionals; and is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology.
We are currently seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for an immediate full-time opportunity.
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for performing high-quality nuclear medicine examinations as directed by the physician and/or department policy.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality nuclear medicine examinations, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
- Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for use in patient studies, adhering to strict quality control protocols.
- Conduct quality control checks on radiopharmaceuticals, including calibration, chemical purity, and radionuclide purity.
- Explain procedures to patients, reassure them, and secure their cooperation during testing.
- Perform testing procedures, including bone scans, cardiac scans, and general studies.
- Observe radiation safety techniques, including the use of protective shielding and proper handling and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or graduate of an American Medical Association-approved program in Nuclear Medicine.
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- ACLS and BCLS certification by the American Heart Association is a plus.
