Urology Physician Opportunity at Optum

Optum, a clinician-led care organization, is seeking a skilled Urology Physician to join our team in Everett or Arlington, WA.

As a member of our Optum Care Delivery team, you will be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone. You will have the clinical resources, data, and support of a global organization behind you, empowering you to help your patients live healthier lives.

Our Urology Physician will work alongside talented peers in a collaborative environment that is guided by diversity and inclusion, driving towards the Quadruple Aim. Position Highlights:
  • Join a team of 5 Urologists and 2 APC Urologists
  • 2 XI DaVinci Robots
  • ASC Surgical Centers in Everett and Arlington, with Providence for inpatient care
  • Schedule is negotiable, with a 4-day work week option
  • Shared community call with Providence, 1:6 or 1:8 once fully staffed
  • Average 20-24 patients per day, with 14 patients per day for procedures
  • 30-minute new visits and 15-minute follow-up templating
  • Epic EMR and DAX available
  • 1:1 ratio with MA, with RNs floating between providers and available for chemo and injections
  • General Urology, all sexes, mostly 60+ population
Cases Seen:
  • General Urology, with a need for a Urologist open to seeing both men and women
  • Types of procedures include nephrectomy, urinary diversions, and endourology
  • No dedication to specific sub-specialty
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Treating and managing patients according to standard, usual, and customary methods and techniques
  • Providing understanding of diagnosis, treatment, therapy, and management of patients according to current standards of care
  • Counsels and educates patients and families
  • Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully with physicians, other health professionals, and staff
  • Coordinates care with multidisciplinary team members
  • Follows ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and unanticipated adverse outcomes
  • Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice
  • Maintains effectiveness throughout changing circumstances, is flexible, resilient, and change-oriented
  • Participates in organizational and departmental meetings, educational opportunities, committees, and workgroups as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical degree from an accredited school
  • Completion of Urology Residency
  • Board Eligible or Certified
  • Unrestricted license to practice in Washington State or ability to obtain before hire
  • Maintain BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an ASC environment
