MRI Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of the body's internal structures. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images of the body's internal structures
- Position and immobilize patients to ensure accurate and safe imaging
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care
- Perform post-processing of computer data to enhance image quality
- Operate support equipment, such as independent workstations and pressure injectors
- Transfer patients to and from the MRI scanning table and prepare them for examination
- Initiate IVs for administration of contrast media, as needed
- Process and copy films, as necessary
- Network images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS)
- Archive images onto optical disks
- 3 years of experience in general radiology or MRI experience
- ARRT RT (Radiologic Technologist) certification
- MRI Registry certification upon hire
- ARRT MRI Registry certification within 90 days
- IDNS License
- CPR Certification
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The MRI Technologist must be able to lift up to 35 pounds, with assistance as needed, and be able to stand for long periods of time. The position also requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
