About Affirma, LLC: Affirma Consulting is a dynamic and rapidly growing technology firm recognized as one of the "Top 5 Best Mid-Size Companies to Work For" by Seattle Business magazine. We are currently seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to enhance our internal Accounting team.
Position Overview: This role is ideal for individuals eager to embark on a career in accounting. Your daily responsibilities will encompass a variety of accounting tasks, including both daily and monthly entries, account reconciliations, and supporting the monthly closing processes. You will also assist in managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Preferred internship or professional experience in accounting
- Experience with Big 4 or large regional CPA firms is advantageous
- Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus
- Proficient in Excel, with the ability to handle a high volume of numerical data accurately and efficiently
- Experience with Pivot Tables and SQL queries is beneficial
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Resourceful in identifying and resolving issues
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and analyses to support monthly closing activities
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
- Support cash reconciliations and generate cash reports for management
- Maintain documentation for accounts payable, including bill generation and vendor verification
- Assist in managing accounts receivable documentation, including client invoicing and payment collection
- Support the filing of monthly and quarterly tax returns
- Address accounting and financial inquiries through data research and interpretation
- Participate in special projects as needed
