Job Summary

The Driver Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the success of Ryder System, Inc.'s logistics and transportation operations. This position is responsible for managing a team of drivers, providing coaching and guidance to ensure excellent customer service, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage the day-to-day work of drivers, ensuring they are equipped to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve driver retention, engagement, and productivity.
  • Monitor and maintain driver detention time, ensuring efficient operations.
  • Review and coach drivers on Lytx events, documenting behaviors and issuing Risk Associated Behaviors (RABs) as necessary.
  • Review HOS violations in Geotab, coaching drivers on related violations and documenting in Workday.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of driver attendance, pay, and status in Workday.
  • Provide ongoing direction and leadership to drivers, promoting excellent customer service and KPI achievement.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and implement creative solutions to improve driver retention.
  • Manage driver payroll and ensure drivers have quality time at home.
  • Ensure driver training is in compliance with company policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred in business, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or a related field, with direct supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) required.
  • Logistics industry knowledge and understanding of customer/company local and federal regulations required.
  • Fundamental knowledge of supply chain management components required.
