We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lease and Capital Accounting Manager to join our Finance team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for leading the technical lease and capital accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Lease Accounting: Review and analyze technical lease accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with ASC 842 and other relevant accounting standards.
- Capital Control: Maintain processes in Capital Control, including reviewing transactions for capitalization vs expense accounting treatment, and ensuring accurate settlement of assets under construction.
- Reporting and Analysis: Participate in the month-end close process, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and critical spreadsheets to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Real Estate, Property and Development, Facilities, Legal, and other departments to gather information and share updates on lease and capital accounting implications.
- Internal and External Audit: Act as a point of contact for internal and external audit requests related to technical leasing and capital control.
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably with the Big 4, with exposure to Technical Leasing (ASC 842) and/or Capital Control.
- Certified Public Accountant required.
- Experience with technical accounting research required.
- Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or other business discipline required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, proficient in the entire Microsoft Office suite.
- High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
The pay range for this position is starting from $125,000.00.
