Unit Manager - RN Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure adequate nursing coverage and provide safe care.
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating ways to achieve patient goals and minimize rehospitalizations.
  • Mentor and educate nurses, working with physicians and other medical professionals, and serve as a resource to all staff within the nursing unit.
  • Oversee medication management to ensure adequate supplies and adherence to Genesis policy.
  • Provide direct patient care to maintain skills and expertise.

Requirements:
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing, three years of nursing experience, or Nursing Diploma, three years of nursing experience.
  • BSN, two years of nursing experience, and at least one year of nurse leadership experience.
  • Current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the nursing center state.
  • Maintain current BLS/CPR certification.
