Unit Manager - RN Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure adequate nursing coverage and provide safe care.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans to minimize rehospitalizations.
  • Mentor and educate nurses, working with physicians and other medical professionals, to ensure high-quality services.
  • Oversee medication management to ensure compliance with Genesis policy and regulations.
  • Provide direct patient care to maintain skills and ensure quality care.

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing, three (3) years of nursing experience. Nursing Diploma, three (3) years of nursing experience. BSN, two (2) years nursing experience. At least one year of nurse leadership experience is required. Must possess current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the nursing center state. Must maintain current BLS/CPR certification.
