Chief of Pediatrics
For over four decades, we have committed ourselves to enhancing community health through innovative services and patient-focused care.
OptumCare is excited to present an opportunity for a fulfilling career in health care.
Founded in Las Vegas, we are the largest multispecialty medical group in Nevada, boasting over 370 local health care professionals across more than 30 health care facilities, including several urgent care and outpatient surgery centers, as well as lifestyle centers designed for older adults.
Our pediatric specialists are integral to our Maternal Child Program, which is designed to meet the specific needs of patients and their families. We provide a comprehensive array of pediatric services, including newborn care, circumcision, routine check-ups, and treatment for illnesses, along with other general pediatric services. We seek a dedicated individual who is passionate about delivering compassionate, innovative, and high-quality care to patients throughout Southern Nevada.
The Chief of Pediatrics will be a key member of the leadership team, accountable for the quality, cost, and service levels of care provided by the Pediatrics Division. This role will collaborate closely with the Senior Medical Director to oversee, guide, manage, and assess all operational aspects of the Pediatrics practice, including hospital coverage. Responsibilities also include planning, executing, and monitoring initiatives that support patient satisfaction, quality enhancement, membership growth, and effective management of resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and communicate effectively with pediatric physician leaders, medical staff, and clinical teams.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of pediatric providers.
- Collaborate with operational teams to foster clinical process improvements and enhance access to care.
- Ensure robust quality assurance and risk management protocols are in place.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Facilitate cost-effective health care delivery within the pediatric practice management framework.
- Ensure compliance with NCQA and other accreditation requirements.
- Promote ongoing professional development programs, including adherence to HEDIS measures.
- Establish strong relationships with key departments such as pharmacy, underwriting, and claims management to address any issues or concerns.
Your contributions will be acknowledged and rewarded in an environment that challenges you while providing clear guidance on achieving success in your role, along with opportunities for growth in other areas of interest.
