Role Summary:

The Academic Scheduling Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting students and staff with various academic services, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards. This position is vital for maintaining accurate schedules and academic records, and involves collaboration with the Registrar team to facilitate the overall success of the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of student records.
  • Modify student schedules based on transfer credits, grades, course drops, and other academic factors in alignment with institutional semesters.
  • Facilitate course registration and make necessary adjustments for returning and continuing students.
  • Update general education and elective selections in accordance with faculty scheduling deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Registrars to request additional course offerings and availability.
  • Assist in balancing course sections on a weekly basis.
  • Utilize reporting tools within the student information system to generate reports, automate processes, and verify data accuracy.
  • Adjust anticipated graduation dates based on schedule modifications.
  • Evaluate students' eligibility for graduation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both students and staff.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in academic course scheduling.
  • Familiarity with CampusVue/CampusNexus/Anthology Student is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 5%.
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with established Service Level Agreements.
  • Strong teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to prioritize tasks during peak periods.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • A collaborative approach to work.
  • Proficient in various software applications, including Word and Excel.
