Job Summary

The Office of Government and Community Engagement at Arizona State University is seeking a highly skilled Program Coordinator to assist with department projects and current initiatives. This role will focus on conducting research, synthesizing and producing collateral for distribution, and assisting with projects related to the Office of Government and Community Engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary research reports on ASU's priorities and policy agenda.
  • Synthesize and produce collateral (i.e., one-pagers, presentations, etc.) for the Office of Government and Community Engagement.
  • Assist with daily operations and coordinate activities of the Office of Government and Community Engagement.
  • Develop and maintain strong personal relationships with ASU's internal departments.
  • Attend city/town council hearings and meetings, legislative hearings, and other stakeholder engagements as needed and provide information and reports to Office of Government and Community Engagement leadership.
  • Develop and coordinate meetings or conferences; coordinate logistics, scheduling and participant communications.
  • Interact and serve as a liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating Office objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Six years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Evidence of a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political science or related field.
  • Experience in operating with Microsoft Office including effectively operating with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience in operating with some design tools like Canva, Adobe, etc.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, events, conferences, etc.
  • Experience in attending government committees, hearings and meetings. An understanding of the different levels of government and how they operate and interact.
  • Evidence of effective communication.
