About the Role

Nourish Early Learning is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a School Age Assistant Teacher. This role is essential in supporting the lead educator in guiding and supervising school-aged children (grades K-4) as they explore their creativity and engage in various activities. This age group is particularly unique, having spent considerable time at Nourish, and they thrive in an environment that promotes both physical activity and imaginative play.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the lead teacher to design and execute developmentally appropriate curricula and activities that align with state standards.
  • Assisting in organizing and facilitating enriching field trips during the summer months.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of children during before and after school hours, maintaining appropriate supervision ratios.
  • Providing essential physical, emotional, and social support to children.
  • Adhering to established teaching standards and safety protocols as mandated by regulatory bodies.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment conducive to learning and growth.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in child care or early childhood education, which is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and current educational methodologies.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR.
  • Completed background checks (FBI & BCII).
