Position Overview

The Practical Nursing Specialist is tasked with delivering designated healthcare services to individuals in our care. This role operates as a vital member of the nursing team within both clinic and outpatient environments.

The Specialist executes nursing tasks in scenarios that necessitate proficient technical care, while not requiring the continuous oversight of a registered nurse.

In more intricate situations, the Specialist collaborates under the explicit guidance of the registered nurse.

The Specialist is accountable for carrying out responsibilities assigned by the registered nurse, which includes aiding the RN in the care of critically ill patients, assisting in evaluating residents' health requirements, making observations, reporting to the RN, and executing related documentation and record-keeping activities.

Compensation Details


This role falls within pay schedule/range 06-05, with compensation commencing at $28.56/hour - $36.72/hour, contingent upon years of licensure as a Practical Nurse.

  • 0 Years: $28.56/hour
  • 3 Years: $30.20/hour
  • 5 Years: $31.83/hour
  • 7 Years: $33.46/hour
  • 9 Years: $35.09/hour
  • 11+ Years: $36.72/hour


Salary on appointment for current state employees may differ based on the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan.

A twelve-month probationary period is mandated. This position is classified as FLSA Non-Exempt.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Qualified candidates must possess current Wisconsin licensure as a Practical Nurse.

Preferred experience includes:

- Effectively responding in emergency situations.

- Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Maintaining a supportive and understanding demeanor towards individuals displaying hostile or negative behavior.
