Your responsibilities will include generating opportunities, underwriting and pricing risks, steering your portfolio, managing relationships, and participating in key strategic discussions within the group. About The Role:

This role presents a distinctive opportunity to join a growing team within Corporate Solutions. Reporting directly to the unit head, the position encompasses the following responsibilities:
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities across small, middle market, and large/complex risks
  • Underwrite both renewal and new risks
  • Conduct thorough pricing analysis based on comprehensive reviews of loss scenarios
  • Provide essential input into risk appetite and market feedback
  • Develop, cultivate, and expand relationships with key producers and brokers
  • Timely service of the book of business
  • Collaborate with claims, contacts, and products to underwrite and manage claims, losses, and make recommendations on manuscript wordings to clarify coverage ambiguities
  • Manage complex accounts and deliver innovative solutions to both existing and prospective clients
  • Inherit an existing renewal book while building a new portfolio
The work location for this role is flexible.

About You:
  • Educational/Professional Qualifications
    • University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent)
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of underwriting experience or equivalent for Underwriter level
    • Understanding of loss and combined ratios
    • Experience in product contamination and recall is not mandatory but beneficial
  • Key Skills and Knowledge
    • Exceptional analytical and communication skills
    • Ability to drive the deal process with brokers and achieve a hit ratio exceeding 20%
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to inspire and challenge others
    • Capable of building trust across all business areas, particularly with other underwriters and brokers
    • Ability to provide market insights and assist in refining division-wide growth and profitability strategies
    • Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
    • Resilient under stress, with the capacity to work independently
    • Demonstrate personal accountability for your responsibilities
    • Willingness to travel occasionally (primarily domestic)
    • Team-oriented: ability to interact and collaborate effectively with others is essential
