Emory Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for directing agency-wide initiatives for pressure ulcer prevention, wound care, and ostomy care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and conduct educational programs and clinical instruction for Emory Healthcare staff and students enrolled in Emory University's Wound Ostomy Continence Education Program.
- Provide advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff regarding the management of complex wounds, fistulas, moisture management, and pressure ulcers.
- Determine appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs in respect to wound and ostomy care.
- Recommend the equipment, materials, and resources needed to successfully implement a wound or ostomy care plan.
- Perform pre-operative stoma site marking and ostomy education.
- Develop and conduct post-operative ostomy education and ostomy care plan for the patient and family.
- Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
- Two years of recent (within the past five years) Registered Nursing experience.
- Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program.
- Achieve certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months.
- Certification in Continence Care is preferred.
