Job Summary

Metalico is seeking a skilled CDL Driver - Class B (Rolloff) Operator to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering and picking up metal containers at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safe Driving Practices: Adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and ensure every trip is completed without incident.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on every truck driven daily and complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Material Handling: Ensure appropriate material distribution and securing load by using tarps as required and tying down the load.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by delivering and picking up containers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communication: Communicate all customer needs and concerns to the transportation manager and maintain a positive relationship with yard staff.
Requirements
  • Class B License: Possess a valid Class B driver's license.
  • Driving Experience: Have at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to enter and exit truck cab using foot and hand holds, exert force for pushing and pulling, and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, twisting, balancing, climbing, crouching, and kneeling.
