Position Summary
The HR Leave Management Specialist is responsible for providing expert guidance and support to both management and employees regarding Leave of Absence issues. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with FMLA, various leave programs, and the evolving needs of the organization. The specialist will oversee the timely processing of leave requests and maintain effective communication with employees and leadership.
Educational Requirements: A minimum of an associate degree in business, human resources, or a related discipline is required.
Licensure: No specific licensure is required.
Experience: At least 4 years of experience in human resources at a non-entry level is essential. Additional training in HR and relevant certifications are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the FMLA process and manages various leave programs, ensuring accurate and accessible record-keeping.
- Facilitates clear communication to employees regarding leave programs to enhance understanding.
- Distributes necessary FMLA documentation in accordance with DOL guidelines and maintains compliant records.
- Monitors intermittent leave requests and collaborates with managers and employees throughout the process.
- Coordinates with external providers to ensure timely completion and return of FMLA paperwork.
- Tracks employee FMLA hours and eligibility, assisting managers with data entry in the HR system.
- Supports accommodation requests related to leaves of absence.
- Conducts regular audits to ensure compliance with HR regulations and standards.
- Assists in maintaining adherence to state, federal, and local HR laws.
- Participates in the onboarding process for new hires, collaborating with various departments to ensure a seamless experience.
- Maintains confidentiality and integrity of HR files and records.
- Provides administrative support to the HR department by ensuring compliant record-keeping practices.
- Performs audits of HR documentation to ensure all required materials are properly filed.
- Addresses common inquiries from employees regarding policies, benefits, and hiring processes, directing complex issues to appropriate HR personnel.
- Provides coverage for the administration office receptionist as needed.
- Exhibits a thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures.
- Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
