Position Overview:

The Pharmaceutical Care Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients, which includes monitoring, evaluating, and ensuring the quality of medication use, offering drug information, and managing the distribution and control of medications.

This role involves reviewing, interpreting, processing, and accurately dispensing medication orders and prescriptions.

Additionally, the Specialist will monitor and manage patient medication therapies to guarantee therapeutic appropriateness and the effectiveness of drug regimens, tailored to the individual patient’s age and needs.

Maintaining established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and quality improvement programs is essential, as is ensuring compliance with regulations and standards governing pharmacy practice.

The Specialist will communicate vital drug information to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.

In emergencies, the Specialist will participate in drug therapy management by responding to urgent calls, assisting in medication preparation, and providing necessary drug information while ensuring adequate medication supplies.

Coordinating daily activities of pharmacy technicians to meet the needs of patients and the organization is also a key responsibility.
