Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Beacon Health System. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment, determining the quality and quantity of ionizing radiation, and producing high-quality radiographs for injured and/or sick patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radiologic equipment, including X-ray machines and fluoroscopy units, to produce high-quality radiographs.
  • Determine the quality and quantity of ionizing radiation to ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Position patients properly for all examinations, using immobilization devices as needed.
  • Evaluate radiographs for technical quality and ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Recognize problems with equipment and troubleshoot to ensure correct operation.
  • Communicate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and patient care.
  • Document patient information and examination results accurately and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the department by completing other job-related duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved school of radiology technology.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and certification by the State Board of Health.
  • Knowledge of radiation emitting units and analytical skills to make judgments regarding quality of radiographs.
  • Well-developed communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a radiological environment with hazards due to radiation.
Working Conditions

This position requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential job functions, including standing for prolonged periods, pushing carts/wheelchairs up to 50 pounds, and positioning/lifting patients at a maximum of 35 pounds unassisted.
