Role Responsibilities:
As an Accountant II, you will operate under general supervision, overseeing the month-end financial close for designated oncology practices, which includes financial reporting and general accounting tasks. You will also ensure compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including adherence to the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Key Duties Include:
- Managing the general ledger, which encompasses preparing financial schedules and journal entries, as well as maintaining cash schedules and monitoring account statuses to facilitate necessary cash transfers.
- Accurately processing the monthly close for all practices and management entities, ensuring timely accruals and reviewing G/L coding on invoices prior to check releases.
- Collaborating with the Controller and management to gather essential information and explanations, while ensuring compliance with Management Services Agreements for all practices.
- Reconciling all balance sheet accounts monthly, supported by valid documentation, and reviewing the monthly reporting package for accuracy and completeness.
- Submitting reporting packages to the Controller punctually and addressing inquiries in a timely manner to meet corporate reporting deadlines.
- Providing specific reporting as requested by the Controller and ensuring the accuracy of fixed asset records, including depreciation management and the implementation of a new fixed asset system.
- Assisting in the annual budgeting process for all practices and maintaining a working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to your responsibilities.
- Upholding confidentiality regarding all information related to patients, medical staff, finances, and cost-effective healthcare delivery.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of two to five years of experience in fiscal management is essential, with prior healthcare experience preferred.
- CPA certification is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position require full body motion, including manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. The role necessitates prolonged periods of standing or sitting and may involve lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges are also required.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based, involving frequent interactions with staff, patients, and the public. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
