Fairbanks, Alaska, United States Arcetyp LLC Full time
Job Overview

Salary: Competitive compensation based on experience.

Arcetyp LLC is a dynamic small business dedicated to delivering a wide array of consulting solutions to the US Federal Government, military, and commercial sectors. Our services encompass Management & IT Consulting, Program & Project Management, and Professional & Administrative Services. We are currently seeking to fill a vital role to spearhead business development initiatives for a government contracting firm with a focus on IT Services and Cyber Security in the Civil and DoD markets.

The MFLC Adult Counselor position is primarily responsible for offering short-term, non-medical counseling and outreach to military personnel and their families. This role includes individual, couples, and group counseling, as well as conducting briefings and presentations to reduce the stigma associated with seeking counseling services.

We are actively looking for qualified MFLC Adult Counselors to support the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) program.

MFLC Adult Counselors play a crucial role in assisting military service members and their families in developing strong relationships, managing stress, and effectively expressing and regulating their emotions. They also help participants navigate the unique challenges associated with military life, including marital issues, parenting concerns, grief and loss, and adjustment difficulties related to relocations and deployments. These services are essential in preventing or alleviating the impacts of stressors that can affect military and family readiness.

In addition, Adult Counselors engage in proactive outreach to service members and their families through walk-around counseling. Counselors collaborate closely with military branch points of contact to ensure that program services align with contract specifications and effectively meet the needs of the assigned installation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver face-to-face, short-term, non-medical counseling to military personnel and their families.
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals to military and community resources as necessary.
  • Utilize approved training materials to conduct presentations and briefings for individuals and groups.
  • Provide referral resources for participants requiring a higher level of care or those ineligible for the MFLC program.
  • Offer outreach services to parents and installation command staff.
  • Communicate trends and issues at the assigned installation to supervisors.
  • Participate in regular training and quality improvement committees as assigned.
  • Document daily activities to demonstrate 8 hours of direct contact.
  • Report time daily for employer and government records.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in short-term, solution-focused counseling techniques.
  • Ability to apply and uphold professional standards.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Apple technology and products.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Independent practice licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, LMHC) in the state of service.
  • Master's degree from an accredited program in a mental health-related field.
  • Ability to pass all background and suitability checks.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally as needed.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the MFLC program.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Ability to engage with military members during routine activities.

Compensation: Detailed information regarding pay and benefits will be provided to interested candidates. Arcetyp offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to full-time salaried employees.

Arcetyp is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity within our workforce. We welcome resumes from all interested candidates and consider applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, personal appearance, family responsibilities, the presence of a non-job-related medical condition or disability, political affiliation, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
