Job Summary

Schedule and prepare patients for routine and specialty imaging procedures and exams. Work on assignments within defined parameters, established guidelines, and precedents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen and schedule all radiology procedures and exams, pulmonary function tests, and first appointment nuclear stress tests (NSTs).
  • Communicate with patients and/or family members to relay instructions and protocols for scheduled exams or procedures.
  • Obtain, input, and verify all necessary demographics, diagnostics, authorizations, physician orders, special instructions, and insurance information.
  • Accommodate special needs and other patient requirements, adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
  • Maintain a high productivity standard and minimize caller wait and hold times.
  • Reschedule appointments according to patient and/or physician requests and equipment downtime.
  • Communicate all scheduling backlogs, barriers, or issues to supervisor.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
