As the Lead Manager for Capital Financing at Scout Clean Energy, you will be pivotal in spearheading capital acquisition initiatives for our expanding portfolio of large-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects. With an anticipated surge in transactions over the coming years, we are enhancing our team to facilitate this growth.
In this role, you will be instrumental in project financing, corporate finance, and capital optimization transactions. Your responsibilities will encompass engaging with capital sources (debt, tax equity, and equity), transaction structuring and execution, as well as collaborating with various teams within the organization. Your deal-focused approach will empower you to devise optimal capital strategies, identify and mitigate diligence risks, and effectively drive transactions to completion, all while embodying the core values of Scout Clean Energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage transactions throughout the investment lifecycle – from initiation to due diligence, final documentation, and closure.
- Create persuasive transaction marketing materials for potential lenders and investors.
- Evaluate and negotiate term sheets and proposals to provide recommendations for ideal financing structures to senior leadership.
- Supervise transaction models for debt, tax equity, and other equity processes.
- Oversee transaction due diligence and liaise with external financing entities and consultants.
- Build and maintain relationships with external legal counsel, advisors, and capital providers to enhance our project financing efforts.
- Ensure timely completion of approval and closing processes by coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
You will report directly to the Associate Director of Project Finance / Capital Markets. Our team operates as a cohesive and efficient unit, collaborating effectively to execute transactions. The role requires a blend of collaborative and independent work; the Lead Manager will engage in both independent tasks and oversee the contributions of junior associates.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy investment banking and/or the renewable energy sector, particularly in tax equity and debt structures. Experience in large-scale renewable energy finance is preferred.
- Proven track record in closing renewable capital markets transactions (tax equity, project debt, corporate debt, M&A).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA), Word, and PowerPoint.
- Self-directed learner capable of swiftly applying insights across various work areas.
- Highly motivated individual with outstanding verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver high-quality work across multiple projects without direct oversight.
- Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- High emotional intelligence – excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to thriving in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment while meeting deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:
Target base salary: $150,000-$175,000, negotiable for the right candidate. Attractive bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and more.
