About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Project Engineer to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson Inc. in the Mid-Atlantic region. As a key member of our Highways Team, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of complex transportation projects, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and coordination of highway projects, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and standards.
  • Design and Development: Develop and manage construction documents, including highway and site design, geometric calculations, and utility coordination.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Client Management: Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, develop proposals, and deliver presentations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure project completion by defined deadlines and established quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in highway engineering, with a strong background in design and project management.
  • Skills: Proficient in Bentley MicroStation and InRoads, Microsoft Office, and written and communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer License, experience working with local clients, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
