Job Summary

The Boat Service Manager is a key role within the Bass Pro Shops team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Boat Service department. This includes managing inventory, scheduling service and rigging work, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Boat Manager in achieving departmental financial goals, including Service and Parts Sales, Gross Margin, and Payroll Goals.
  • Provide daily supervision and direction to associates in the Service Department.
  • Schedule and assign service, rigging, and warranty work orders, ensuring timely completion to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and improve associate productivity.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and secure work environment.
  • Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.
  • Assist the Boat Manager in staffing the Service area with customer-oriented associates, participating in interviewing and training, and preparing performance appraisals.
  • Resolve customer and associate opportunities with the Boat Manager.
  • Assist with coordination of special events, such as Boat Shows and Classic events.
  • Manage and ensure accuracy of unit and parts inventories.
  • Ensure warranty claims are created, submitted, and warranty payments received in a timely manner.
  • Ensure products are properly detailed and unit deliveries are conducted in a friendly and professional manner as scheduled.
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in Retail Boating or a similar industry, with supervisory experience a plus.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, read and analyze reports, and effectively present information to groups.
  • Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management, and electronic point-of-sale and inventory management systems.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
