About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer 2 to join our team at Lam Research. As a key member of our Global Products Group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative mechanical solutions for our cutting-edge semiconductor equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including mechanisms, mechanisms, and automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive product specifications and evaluate performance.
  • Utilize rapid prototyping techniques to demonstrate and learn from quick design iteration.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured to performance and cost objectives.
  • Drive technical innovation and file invention disclosures for evaluation of novel ideas.
  • Develop test criteria and equipment for automated test of products and provide necessary engineering support.
  • Conduct failure analysis and drive continual improvement throughout the life of the product.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to ensure commitments are met.
  • Address safety issues quickly and escalate to management as needed.
  • Respond quickly to customer requests and escalations.
  • Create and present technical presentations for technical teams, management, and customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong design background coupled with solid engineering skills.
  • Extremely knowledgeable using 3D CAD tools such as CREO, NX, etc.
  • Proven analytical skills including modeling analyses (simulations) using FEA applications such as Creo Simulation, COMSOL, etc.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance.
  • Strong familiarity with machining practices and Sheetmetal fabrication and other manufacturing methods.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) and other rapid prototyping methods.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Strong skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated passion for Mechatronics in the form of robotics, industrial automation, and/or sensing/computer vision.

Salary: $69,152,000.00 (CA San Francisco Bay Area). Salary offers will depend on factors such as location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
