Mechanical Engineer 2

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer 2 to join our team at Lam Research. As a key member of our Global Products Group, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and evaluating mechanical systems for our cutting-edge semiconductor equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with firmware and controls resources to develop comprehensive product specifications and deliver timely solutions.
- Utilize internal rapid prototyping to demonstrate and learn from quick design iteration.
- Conduct hands-on work in the Mechatronics lab, working with products and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Work with suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured to performance and cost objectives.
- Drive technical innovation and file invention disclosures for evaluation of novel ideas.
- Develop material for design reviews following Lam processes and create test criteria and equipment for automated test of products.
- Conduct failure analysis and drive continual improvement throughout the life of the product.
- Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to ensure commitments are met.
- Address safety issues quickly and escalate to management as needed.
- Respond quickly to customer requests and escalations, anticipating customer needs for solutions and information.
- Create and present technical presentations for technical teams, management, and customers.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience. For level 2, a Master's degree or 3 years of industry experience is required.
- Strong design background coupled with solid engineering skills.
- Extremely knowledgeable using 3D CAD tools such as CREO, NX, etc.
- Proven analytical skills including modeling analyses (simulations) using FEA applications such as Creo Simulation, COMSOL, etc.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance.
- Strong familiarity with machining practices and Sheetmetal fabrication and other manufacturing methods.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) and other rapid prototyping methods.
- Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Strong skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

We offer a variety of work location models, including On-site Flex and Virtual Flex, to accommodate different work styles and preferences. Our salary range for this position is $69,000.00 - $152,000.00, depending on location and experience.
