About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Lam Research. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and products, including prototypes and production-ready designs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive product specifications and evaluate performance
  • Utilize internal rapid prototyping to demonstrate and learn from quick design iteration
  • Work with suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured to performance and cost objectives
  • Drive technical innovation and file invention disclosures for evaluation of novel ideas
  • Develop material for design reviews following Lam processes
  • Conduct failure analysis and drive continual improvement throughout the life of the product
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to ensure commitments are met
  • Address safety issues quickly and escalate to management as needed
  • Respond quickly to customer requests and escalations, and anticipate customer needs for solutions and information
  • Create and present technical presentations for technical teams, management, and customers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong design background coupled with solid engineering skills
  • Extremely knowledgeable using 3D CAD tools such as CREO, NX, etc.
  • Proven analytical skills including modeling analyses (simulations) using FEA applications such as Creo Simulation, COMSOL, etc.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
  • Strong familiarity with machining practices and Sheetmetal fabrication and other manufacturing methods
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing (3D printing) and other rapid prototyping methods
  • Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Strong skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
