Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our team at Denny's. As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, ensuring a seamless dining experience, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets guests promptly and warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Seats guests at clean and dry tables, utilizing proper seating rotation and ensuring a comfortable dining experience
  • Manages guest waiting lists, adhering to proper seating order procedures and minimizing wait times
  • Describes promotions and suggests menu items to guests, enhancing their dining experience
  • Handles cash, credit card, and discount transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Utilizes proper telephone etiquette and responds to guest inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Enters and delivers "To Go" orders correctly, ensuring timely and accurate service
  • Addresses guest complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to supervisors as needed
  • Maintains a clean and organized foyer area, adhering to Denny's Brand Standards
  • Assists other team members as needed, demonstrating a team-oriented approach and a willingness to learn and adapt
Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and walk during entire shift
  • Must be able to hear well in a loud environment to respond to employee and guest needs
  • Must possess basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
  • Must meet any state, county, or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
  • Must be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
  • Must be able to operate a point of sale system
  • Must be able to work around potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to work with all Denny's menu products
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in kitchen and freezer areas
  • Must be able to portion any food product that weighs less than 10-15 pounds
  • Must be able to ask for assistance for lifting anything over 10-15 pounds

  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
