Job Title:

Pediatric Surgical Assistant

Job Summary:

The Pediatric Surgical Assistant will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and education, with a focus on ensuring a safe and quality care environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with attending physicians to oversee patient care from clinic to OR/inpatient to discharge
  • Assist with patient and family care, as well as support the healthcare team in providing a comprehensive continuum of care
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, utilizing evidence-based practice and clinical judgment
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health and wellness
Requirements:
  • MSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care (CPNP-PC) or Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNP-AC) certification or enrollment in postgraduate certificate program within one year of hire or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C)
  • Strong clinical and technical skills, with a focus on pediatric surgical care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
