About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transit and Rail Engineer to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our transportation engineering group, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the planning, design, and construction of transit and rail infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight for transit and rail infrastructure projects, including design, construction, and operation.
  • Develop and implement advanced technologies and monitoring devices to ensure the safety and functionality of transit and rail systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, including planning, design, and construction.
  • Lead larger-scale engineering projects, ensuring contributors know their responsibilities and deadlines, and preparing and overseeing project budgets.
  • Assist with engineering review of permit applications, design plans, and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Meet with clients and stakeholders to discuss engineering and construction challenges and programs.
  • Develop and maintain a client base for providing high-level transit and rail engineering services.
  • Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior transit and rail experience.
  • Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
  • Highly proficient with transit and rail engineering principles, practices, and design/build on major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and program/construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of FRA, FTA, CPUC, AREMA, and other rail regulatory standards and procedures.
